Hola!
I’m Lauren

Hola! I’m Lauren.
I’m the London wedding & events photographer with a Stealth Mode superpower – so you’ll hardly notice I’m there, and yet I’m somehow everywhere.
I think it’s really important when you choose someone to be there to capture your biggest moments that you don’t feel like they’re a stranger, and it’s even better if you find out some things you have in common!
So, as a way of an introduction before we start chatting properly about what I can do for you as a photographer, here’s a little about who I am, beyond the camera…
- Well, most important first, I have a staffy called Pumba. He’s physically huge but easily the most emotionally-pathetic dog on the planet. He does his best to be a great Edit Buddy
- I speak Spanish to an advanced level, albeit a little rusty now. I learnt this during over 2 years of travelling around Latin America
- I’ve played classical guitar since the age of 7, and electric since 12. I was pretty good and dedicated a huge amount of time to it, but then I discovered eye-wateringly sweet Wetherspoons cocktails in my late teens, and we all know how the story goes from there
- As if being a wedding photographer wasn’t enough, I’ve now been a bridesmaid/maid of honour NINE TIMES
- I am also currently planning my own dreamy wedding… It’s going to be styled like a Viking banquet with a confusing splash of gothicness and I cannot WAIT
- I have an incessantneed-for-speed, and used to kart for a couple of racing teams
- I can’t stand not being busy, which is why it makes perfect sense to me to run a photography business, maintain a travel blog and consult on brand strategy all at the same time. Creative variety is the spice of life!

How did I become a photographer?
Remember that one person in your friendship group who used to take a little point-and-shoot camera on a night out and then upload every single one of the devastating pictures to Facebook the next day, right at the peak of your hangover? Yep, that was me.
And then one day, in my twenties, my frontal lobe reached full development with a rather monumental jolt, and I realised that documenting all the energy and fun of a big event didn’t have to ruin lives. In fact, it could become something that people actually looked forward to, and treasured for generations.
I wasn’t quite ready for my creative metamorphosis yet, though, and so I stuck to experimenting with photography through the in-house studio at my job (brand consultancy still has a sizeable chunk of my heart), eventually being allowed to shoot client events alongside the *real* creatives. After one of these nights, our videographer told me I had “the eye”. I loved photography, and secretly thought I was very, very talented with it (cue Dunning-Kröger curve), so to have it confirmed by a real-life professional had me almost melting on the spot.

When I embarked on a stint of more than 2 years of travelling in Latin America in 2017, I suddenly found myself able to snap practically every day, even shooting for AirBnB magazine while I was out there. At the time, I was incredibly proud of my travel photos, but I look back now and see poorly-exposed, soft images made with kit that had been mercilessly bashed around, and then edited with a violent turquoise hue to match the instagram trends of the day (this embarrassment is the main reason I now edit for timelessness).
It was, however, the start of the fusion of my hand to my camera, and when I returned to the UK I threw myself into family shoots, personal & corporate events, portraits, and finally, the big one I’d been putting off for so long due to pure fear – weddings.
… and now I find myself here, over a decade after this all began, doing a job that I absolutely adore (you’ll be glad to know that wedding photography isn’t scary anymore); helping people relive their big days through my photos as if they were still there in that moment. Bit of an honour, that!

And that’s me! I really recommend that you not only find a style fit for photography, but also a personality fit, so if you think we’d get along… Let’s get the ball rolling!
